4-Year-Old Tee Ball Program (new for Spring 2025)
Introduction
Welcome to our 4-Year-Old Tee Ball Program! Designed specifically for young children, this program aims to introduce the basics of baseball in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. By focusing on the enjoyment of the game, we hope to foster a lifelong love for baseball in each child.
Program Overview
Our tee ball program for 4-year-olds is centered around having fun while learning the fundamental skills of baseball. The program includes one practice session each week, held on Sundays for one hour. This structure allows young players to engage consistently without feeling overwhelmed or overcommitted.
During the program, children will be introduced to the key components of baseball, including batting, fielding, throwing, and running bases. Each skill will be taught through age-appropriate drills and exercises designed to be both fun and educational.
In addition to learning baseball skills, the program emphasizes the importance of teamwork and cooperation. Children will have the opportunity to interact with their peers, make new friends, and develop social skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Tee Ball program encourages physical activity, helping children to develop coordination, balance, and motor skills. By participating in various drills and activities, children will improve their overall fitness and agility.
Practice Structure
Each one-hour practice session is carefully planned to ensure a balance between learning and fun. A typical practice might include the following components:
- Warm-Up: A brief warm-up session to get the children moving and ready for practice. This might include light jogging, stretching, and simple exercises.
- Skill Stations: Rotating stations focusing on different baseball skills such as batting, throwing, catching, and running bases. Each station will have a coach or volunteer to guide the children and provide instruction.
- Drills and Games: Fun drills and games designed to reinforce the skills learned at the stations. These activities will be interactive and engaging, keeping the children enthusiastic and motivated.
- Cool-Down: A cool-down session to help the children relax and reflect on what they’ve learned. This might include light stretching and a brief group discussion.
Equipment
Each player will need their own glove, but all the other equipment will be provided by the league.
